
The Living Rumors is a Bellingham-based band fronted by Sharon Mayson on lead vocals.
With roots in gospel and contemporary Christian music, Sharon’s musical foundation was shaped early through performing with vocal groups across Canada and the United States. These experiences helped her develop an intuitive sense for harmony and the tight, expressive vocal style she is known for today.

Backing her is an all-star lineup of seasoned musicians:
- Chip Westerfield plays professional and exceptional lead guitar. His career as a record producer and sound engineer adds expertise, depth, and precision to the band’s sound.
- On keys, Diane Leigh provides stunning piano work and lush harmonies—her musical versatility spans jazz, Dixieland, swing, and beyond, coloring the band’s sound with sophistication and style.
- On drums, Kevin Chryst captivates audiences with his musicality and feel, laying down a solid, dynamic rhythmic foundation. A seasoned performer with roots in Seattle and a life now grounded in Everson, his playing delivers a deep, steady groove that anchors the band.
- Rounding out the rhythm section is Stephen Blair, one of Bellingham’s standout bass players, whose versatile style spans funk, R&B, rock, folk, and blues—bringing a rich, hypnotic low end that ties everything together.
